Teacher Supply Tailored Support Programme: Expression of interest in providing strategic support for schools facing significant recruitment and retention challenges – deadline Friday 1 December 2017.

The Department for Education is investing £30m in tailored support to help around 400 schools across the country that we have identified as likely to be facing the most severe recruitment and retention challenges.

A key aspect of this programme is providing strategic support and advice for school leaders on workforce planning and recruitment activity. To deliver this we plan to deploy the services of existing system leaders with experience in tackling teacher supply issues within schools across the eight RSC regions from January 2018.

Additionally, we are looking for Teaching Schools and their staff to provide mentor support to early career teachers in schools facing the most significant recruitment and retention challenges. Whilst there is a separate expression of interest for this role, it may be beneficial to provide both school leaders and mentors from the same school or alliance.
